Southeastern had four players score in double-digits and held off a tough Union squad to earn an 83-71 win on Thursday night in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The win lifts the Savage Storm off to a 2-0 start for the first time under head coach Kelly Green, while the Bulldogs slip to 1-1 on the year.

SE will be back in action on Nov. 17 when it hosts Arkansas-Fort Smith at 7:30 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Travis Timmons turned in an excellent encore for his record-setting performance in the opener, posting his second-straight double-double with a team-high 20 points and 10 assists. He was 7-of-11 from the floor with a pair of threes and chipped in four steals and three rebounds.

Jame Harris came off the bench to bolster the backcourt with 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including a 5-of-6 performance from behind the arc.

Chris Roussell rounded out the backcourt trifecta for the Storm, despite not playing at 100 percent he flirted with a triple-double, turning in a 10 point, eight rebound and seven assist outing.

Steven Kohli led the frontcourt to the tune of 15 points and eight rebounds, scoring on the strength of his outside shot where he hit 3-of-6 from long range.

The three pointer was big for SE on the night as the team hit 12-of-26 combined for a 46.2 percent night from long range. That number helped boost a 50.0 percent shooting night from the floor as a whole.

As a team, the Storm held a slight advantage on the boards, 34-to-32, while Kohli and Roussell each posted team highs of eight rebounds to lead the way.

Harris' 19 points paced the Storm to an impressive 26-2 advantage in points off the bench, while the SE defense took advantage of 18 UU turnovers to hold a 31-12 advantage in points off turnovers.

SE opened with threes from Timmons and Kohli and after trading baskets out of the gate would build a quick 16-7 lead.

The Bulldogs would whittle that all the way down to a three-point lead before the Storm would get its bearings and reel off a 13-4 run to push the lead out to 29-17.

That advantage would balloon to 18 points on a Roussell layup in transition with 6:50 to play in the half, but a UU run over the final minutes of the half would cut that lead all the way back down to two points with 1:18 to play in the first.

Timmons would finish the half by taking advantage eof a UU turnover to hit a driving layup with three seconds left to set the halftime score at 46-42 in SE's favor.

The teams would trade buckets out of halftime until Union would get a three pointer and take its first lead of the game at 50-49 at the 18:09 mark of the second half.

SE would score and UU answered to trade the advantage one more time before the Storm would tear off a 16-0 run powered by nine points from Harris to mount a 67-52 lead with 10:25 to play.

That would later grow to 18 points on a Timmons three before Union slowly began crawling back into the game, eventually trimming the SE advantage to 77-71 with 2:06 to play.

That was as close as it would get, however as Southeastern would score the final six points of the contest on free throws to fashion the 83-71 final score.
