Claremore Man, His Aunt Charged With Recruiting Underage Girls For Sex

A Claremore woman has been arrested and charged with providing young girls to have sex with her nephew.

She's also accused of buying alcohol for the girls and even getting them the day after pill.

Both the aunt and nephew are facing felony charges.

The affidavit says Jessie Cleveland, 31, met two 14-year-old girls, who were cousins, at church, befriended them, and then encouraged them to have sex with her 18-year-old nephew Braeden Hendershott.

The affidavit says Cleveland bought vodka and wine coolers for the girls and took them to Hendershott's place more than once to have sex with him, then picked them up afterward and bought them the morning after pill to prevent pregnancy.

One girl told police she was a virgin and repeatedly refused Hendershott during the first encounter, but when he kept insisting, she gave in.

They said her cousin also said she was also reluctant and said her encounter with Hendershott hurt badly.

The affidavit says Hendershott knew they were underage and asked them to keep quiet about it, so he wouldn't go to jail.

The girls told police Cleveland also asked them to keep quiet about her buying them alcohol, because she didn't want to get in trouble.

Cleveland faces felony charges of enabling child sex abuse and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Hendershott is charged with six counts that include rape, lewd acts with a child and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

The girls said this was going on from December 2011 to March 2012, when one of the girls reported it to police.

Both Hendershott and Cleveland have been ordered to stay away from the alleged victims once they're released on bond.
