A Yale resident has died at a Tulsa hospital after a pickup truck he was driving in circles in a rural Payne County field Monday evening rolled over.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 48-year-old William Taylor was on private property southeast of Yale when he lost control in the soft sand causing his pickup truck to roll over. Taylor was pinned for an hour and a half, according to the OHP.

Troopers say Taylor was intoxicated at the time. He was flown by medical helicopter to St. John Hospital in Tulsa where he died on Wednesday.

A passenger in the pickup truck, Randy Lewis, 44, also of Yale, was not injured.
