A head-on collision killed three people on Oklahoma 33 at 193rd West Avenue just west of the Sapulpa city limits near John Christner Trucking on Sunday afternoon.

The westbound 2001 Chevrolet pickup driven by Carmen D. Spicer, 36, of Mannford, crossed the center line and hit an eastbound sport utility vehicle head-on, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Spicer's truck slammed into a 2010 Buick SUV driven by Donald L. Clift, 54, of Amarillo, Texas, and his passenger, 52-year-old Jana T. Clift.

All three people were pinned, extricated by responders and pronounced dead at the scene.

Approaching traffic was turned away as investigators worked the fatality wreck scene. Both lanes were still closed for nearly three hours. Troopers reported the wreck at about 12:40 p.m.

The agency said it will continue to investigate using the computers and black boxes in the vehicles.

Several agencies responded to the scene including OHP, Creek County Sheriff's Department, Creek County Fire Department, Lighthorse Police and Creek County Ambulance Service.

Spicer was not wearing a seat belt, according to the investigating trooper's report.
