The Oklahoma City University women's soccer team clinched the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament championship Thursday night when they beat Oklahoma Baptist 1-0 at Stars Field.

The Stars got a second-half goal from sophomore Allie Glazner and shut down the Lady Bison to move to 19-1 and earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Championship Opening Round.

OCU also won the SAC regular-season title this season. The Stars are ranked No. 6 in NAIA women's soccer.

Junior goalkeeper Ashley Bechtold made saves in the 10th and 19th minutes to keep OBU off the scoreboard in the first half.

Meghan McMahon, Glazner, Rachael O'Brien and Hollis St. John all put shot on goal in the first half, but Oklahoma Baptist goalkeeper Shannon Griffith saved all four attempts to keep the Stars scoreless.

In the 69th minute, McMahon sent a pass into the box that found Glazner. Glazner headed the ball past Griffith to score her sixth goal of the season and give OCU a 1-0 lead.

Bechtold made two more saves in the second half to hold the Lady Bison scoreless and give OCU the 1-0 victory.

The Stars notched their 16th shutout of the season to break the school record for most shutouts in a single season. The previous mark of 15 was set in 1999.

OCU says they will likely host a NAIA Championship Opening Round match on Nov. 17 at Stars Field. Opening-round pairings will be announced at 2 p.m. CDT Monday.
