Police are searching for a killer following a fatal shooting on Oklahoma City's southwest side.

Police found one man dead in the front yard of a home around 5 p.m. Thursday. Police were on the scene for several hours late Thursday, interviewing at least four witnesses.

Police say there was a confrontation between several people near the 1200 block of S.W. 58th Street. The argument resulted in the death of one male victim. Police were not releasing the victim's name, age or possible relationship to a suspect.

"We do have several witnesses on scene who [we're] interviewing," Lt. Jason Samuel with Oklahoma City police said. "At this time, there are no suspects outstanding."

About a block and a half of a side street running along SW 58th was closed as officers processed the scene.

With such a large scene, people in the area, both young and old, gathered to see what was happening.

"This guy got shot out in his yard," 8-year-old Orlando Rey said. "I was very scared."

Many people in the area want to know what led to the violence.

"If it's gang-related, I would be worried," area neighborhood watch captain Rey Villarruel said. "If it was just an argument, probably not."

The witnesses have been taken to Oklahoma City police headquarters for further questioning. Police say it is possible some of the witnesses may become suspects.
