EDMOND, Oklahoma -

Treasures hidden all over the metro, some worth thousands of dollars. That's how a growing number of Oklahomans view storage units.

When people don't pay their monthly rent on a locker, places like Mid-America Self Storage in Edmond can auction off the contents.

"It is fun, it's a gamble. You never know," one anxious bidder said.

Oklahomans line up for a quick peek inside then the war begins. The highest bidder takes home everything inside.  Some people are looking for antiques, others for big ticket items to resale.

Find out when other storage auctions are taking place in Oklahoma.

A winning bidder said, "I can probably sell that couch and loveseat for about 200-bucks. Microwave for maybe $25."

Sometimes they own a new pile of junk.

"Bought a unit full of green garbage bags and they were all styrofoam blocks in it," One bidder said.

It's an addiction catching on across Oklahoma.
