Two Oklahomans Identified In Kansas Turnpike Crash

A Tulsa man is dead following the crash and explosion of his semi tanker on the Kansas Turnpike south of Wichita Saturday afternoon.  A female passenger from Wagoner, Oklahoma was also killed.

The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the driver as 57-year-old Kelly Stark and his passenger as 54-year-old Jennie Smith.

Troopers say the semi was northbound on the turnpike near the Belle Plaine service plaza when for some unknown reason, hit a guardrail and drove off the highway.

Both Stark and Smith were pronounced at the scene.
