Oklahoma County deputies are searching for a registered sex offender they say may have led them on a high-speed pursuit Friday morning.

Around 9:20 a.m., a deputy driving through Arcadia spotted a suspicious vehicle on Route 66. He ran the license plate, and discovered the car had been stolen out of Oklahoma City. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to pull over.

Deputies believe the man behind the wheel was 23-year-old Joshua Walton, a sex offender who is not living at his registered address. The Logan County Sheriff's Office has put out a warrant for his arrest. He's also wanted on outstanding warrants in Oklahoma County, including one for lewd or indecent acts with a child.

Deputies say the driver sped away, and they pursued. At one point, the chase reached speeds over 120 mph. It finally ended when the driver crashed into fences in an Edmond field just east of Midwest Boulevard on Redbud Lane.

Deputies immediately arrested the passenger in the car, 32-year-old Kenneth Dale Watson.

"The passenger of the vehicle was taken into custody immediately by an OCSO K-9 deputy," said Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel. "The passenger received some minor injuries due to the K-9 biting him in the head."

Watson was treated at a metro hospital for the dog bite. He was arrested on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle, and resisting arrest. He also had outstanding warrants in another county.

Deputies say the driver, the man they believe to be Walton, managed to jump out of the vehicle and run away. Authorities are still searching for him as a person of interest in this case. Anyone with information regarding Walton's whereabouts is asked to call the OCSO at (405) 869-2501.
