Woman Hit, Killed By Car In Northwest OKC While Checking On Dog In Road

An Oklahoma City woman was killed Wednesday after being hit by a car near N.W. 164th Street and May.

According to police, the 42-year-old woman and her son were driving on 164th Street when the woman hit a dog in the road.

The woman pulled over, put her hazard lights on and got out to check on the dog, when another car traveling on 164th Street saw the pulled-over car, swerved to miss it, and struck the woman.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver who hit the woman stayed at the scene for police to arrive.

Police have not released the identities of the woman, her son, or the driver of the other vehicle. No other information was immediately available.
