Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say a Bartlesville man lost his life early Sunday morning in a rollover wreck. Christopher J. Carpenter's truck ran off the road and crashed just before 2 a.m. on County Road 2706 about three miles west of State Highway 123.

Carpenter, 35, was eastbound on the county road about a mile south and two miles west of Bartlesville. His 1997 Chevrolet pickup failed to make a curve and rolled two and a half times, according to a collision report by the OHP.

Carpenter, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the truck. He died at the scene, according to the trooper's report.

The driver's condition at the time of the wreck is under investigation. The cause of the fatal crash is listed as unsafe speed on a curve.
