Investigators Identify Victim Found Along Lincoln County Road

OSBI Investigators have positively identified the male victim found along a rural Lincoln County road as 35-year-old Gustavo Barragan Valencia.

Authorities first discovered the body lying on a rural road near NE 150th and Pottawatomie Rd. in Lincoln County, on Oct. 24.

Further investigation revealed that the victim had his arms and legs bound, had a pillowcase over his head and was shot twice in the back of the head.

OSBI also expressed interest in video taken by News 9 showing two persons of interest loitering around the scene of the crime the day the body was discovered. So far, no arrests have been made.

Investigators believe members of a southside Oklahoma City gang could be involved in the murder. They also say that Valencia is a citizen of Mexico.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's office will hold a press conference regarding the murder on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m.
