OKINAWA, Japan -
A Muskogee sailor remains in Japanese custody awaiting trial on the island of Okinawa. Meanwhile, the military says a policy limiting the freedom of sailors on the island are under review.
Police allege Petty Officer 3rd Class Skyler Dozierwalker of Muskogee and a sailor from Athens, Texas, raped and robbed a local woman in her 20's earlier this month outside her apartment building.
Dozierwalker was temporarily deployed to Japan with his unit, the VR-59 reserve air detachment based at the Joint Naval Air Station in Fort Worth.
Okinawa Police says he was staying at an off-base hotel and reportedly drinking before the alleged rape took place.
Last week, Dozierwalker reportedly confessed to taking part in the rape.
