DEL CITY, Oklahoma -

One man is under arrest and being accused of shooting and killing another at a metro apartment complex. Police say the suspect fired a shotgun through a window from inside an apartment, hitting a man who was outside.

It all started with a woman calling 911 to report a burglary in progress. But instead of a burglary, officers arrived to a homicide. A blood spattered bullet hole in the window can be seen at the apartment complex at 3447 S.E. 44th Street in Del City.

"There's a lot of crime in this whole area," neighbor Steve Mariott said.

Phillip L. Davis is under arrest for the killing of Keaunce Mustin. Officers say Davis was spending the night with a woman who neighbors say was romantically involved with Mustin. Davis tells police he heard what sounded like glass breaking, so he brought his 12-gauge to the window and fired one round.

"It just seems strange that somebody at 3 in the morning would be in the back trying to get in," Mariott said.

Neighbors say one woman lived in the apartment with her kids. Police say three children were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting. The kids were not injured.

Police did not arrest Davis until after they interviewed him. Police would not say if anything said during the interview prompted officers to make the arrest.

Davis has a lengthy criminal history. He has served time on various drug and burglary charges in several Oklahoma counties. He is being held without bond.
