A retired Warr Acres police K9 who was reported missing has been found safe Wednesday morning.

K9 "Lerry" was reported missing Tuesday night by his handler, retired Warr Acres police officer Sgt. Scott Schatzer. Sgt. Schatzer said Lerry somehow made it out of the backyard of his home, located in the area of W. Wilshire and N. Council.

Sgt. Schatzer said he posted an ad on Craig's List about Lerry's disappearance. Wednesday morning, a neighbor contacted him and said that Lerry had spent the night in her backyard.

Sgt. Schatzer said Lerry is microchipped, and has a tattoo in his left ear. He is nine years old and weighs about 50 pounds.
