Friends and family of 15-year-old Richard Morales packed into the courtroom, as did family members of 16-year-old Tavon Railback, the younger one of the two defendants.

Many friends and family members, including Richard Morales mom, wiped away tears during the testimony.

Many of them also wore T-shirts to honor and remember Morales, who was shot and killed while walking down NW 105th Street with friends in early July.

Witnesses claim Morales was involved in an altercation with some teenagers over July 4.

One of those teenagers was identified as 19-year-old Brendon Jackson, who now stands charged with first degree murder and shooting with intent to kill.

According to friends and family members, the defendants did not know Richard Morales.

The preliminary hearing is expected to resume on Wednesday.

Railback is being tried as a youthful offender. He is accused of being in the car during the drive-by and is facing both murder and shooting with intent to kill charges.

Jackson is accused of pulling the trigger.
