A former Mounds Chief of Police was arrested Friday night after beer servers tried to cut off the supply at Oktoberfest.

Chad Jeremy Long, 36, was booked into Tulsa County Jail on complaints of public intoxication and resisting arrest. An off-duty Mounds officer helped make the arrest.

According to arrest reports, Long was at Tulsa's Oktoberfest celebration when servers cut off beer sales at 11 p.m. Long jumped over a 3-foot wall to gain access to the beer taps, the arrest report states.

"This was a no public access area," the arresting officer said.

Police told Long he could not be in the restricted area and had to restrain him when he was uncooperative, the report states. Long had blood shot eyes and smelled of alcohol, according to police.

Long was placed in handcuffs, and he refused to tell police his name or any other information, documents state. Off-duty Mounds Police Officer Cody Stansell was able to identify Long, who was taken to jail and released on a $300 bond.

Long was charged in Creek County this summer on a count of embezzlement. Investigators say when he was the chief of police in Mounds, he took several thousand dollars in cash turned into police after a woman found a purse containing over $17,000.
