OKLAHOMA CITY -

An Oklahoma soil conservation director is warning that the destructive dust storm that plagued Kay County Thursday could happen again.

Clay Pope says Oklahoma is in one of the worst three-year drought periods in decades.  He says because of that, it's more important than ever for farmers around the state to prepare their topsoil the right way.

"All civilization rests on an inch of topsoil.  That's where all our food and fiber comes from.  So when that's gone, it's gone.  Some of that soil started to form when Alexander the Great was a baby, so if you lose it, you're not getting it back," he said.
