A man was arrested on Tuesday after he reportedly attacked an Oklahoma City police officer.

Mark Carl Lamb, 40, was arrested on several charges, including assault and battery on a police officer, inhaling harmful substance, and resisting arrest.

According to the police report, at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, an officer responded to the report of a man "huffing something" behind Grandy's restaurant, located on 7704 S. Western in Oklahoma City.

When the officer arrived at the scene, he noticed a man, later identified as Lamb, huffing a can of compressed air into his mouth. The police report stated Lamb was also "making animal sounds as if he was growling."

The officer said he also saw several empty cans on the ground.

The officer then tried to talk to Lamb, but Lamb looked at him and "growled like an animal." The officer took the can away from Lamb and asked him to walk towards his patrol car. He attempted to handcuff Lamb, but Lamb managed to get away from him.

According to police, the officer was able to catch up with Lamb, that's when Lamb punched the officer once in the head and once in the face.

The officer had to use a taser to get Lamb under control, police said.

Lamb was taken into custody and transported to the Southwest Medical Center to get checked out. He was later transported to the Oklahoma County Jail.
