Shooter Targets North Tulsa Home Twice In One Night

The house, in the 800 block of North Union Avenue, was hit by multiple rounds about midnight, then a dozen more about 3 a.m.

A small child was sleeping on a couch under a window that was pierced by several bullets.

There were seven people in the home, but none were able to describe the shooter.

A Tulsa home was the target of gunfire about midnight on Thursday, and three hours later, it was hit again.

The house, located in the 800 block of North Union Avenue, absorbed about 14 rounds the first time, and about a dozen the second time.

Police said a large picture window was pierced several times about midnight, and a small child was sleeping on a couch under the window.

"Several rounds went right above the kid's head," Tulsa police Cpl. Dan Miller said.

The child went to stay with relatives for the rest of the night, but the rest of the people decided to stay in the house.

Three hours later, someone fired a dozen more rounds into the home.

Miller said the people in the home claimed no gang affiliation and told police they don't know why they were targeted.

Now police are wondering "why somebody would pick out this innocent family and just start shooting up their home," Miller said.

No one was hurt in the shooting. The investigation will continue.
