Jury trial is underway for a man accused of killing his girlfriend and her two children in McLain County in 2010.

Prosecutors claim Shaun Bosse killed Katrina Griffin, 8-year-old Christian Griffin and 6-year-old Chasity Hammer, then set fire to the family's home in Dibble.

Daryl Dobbs first spotted smoke coming from the mobile home.  Dobbs testified to calling 911 and then doing everything he could to alert anyone who could be inside the home. Dobbs says he has thought about it a lot the last two years.

"It makes you second guess everything you did.  I think ‘Should I have gone in or not? Were they alive when I got there?'"

Dobbs tells News 9, testifying for the state was difficult because he had to rehash all of the details.

Katrina's stepmother, Ginger Griffin, also testified. She explained the last time, the night before the murder, she saw her stepdaughter and grandkids. She also testified that Bosse was at the Griffin home the night before the murder, when Katrina griffin reported items missing from her home

Court documents indicate pawn slips for those items were found in Bosse's possession after the murder as well as blood on clothes inside his apartment.

The trial is expected to last up four weeks.
