OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City Police say crooks tried and failed to burglarize a Rent-A-Center store by crashing a vehicle through the front window.

Around 6 a.m., the suspects drove a pickup truck into the store near N.W. 50th Street and Meridian. Police say they tried to steal televisions from the store, but couldn't because the TVs were tethered to the wall.

The burglars took off, empty-handed, but they did leave behind a big mess. The front window of the store was smashed, and the metal gate was twisted and bent.

Police have not released a description of the burglars.
