EDMOND, Oklahoma -

The Annual Edmond Electric Parade of Lights will take place on December 8 in downtown Edmond, and event organizers are now accepting entry applications to participate in this parade.

City officials have moved this year's parade to Saturday evening to accommodate better traffic flow and the many downtown visitors this parade attracts.

Officials say they encourage local organizations, groups and businesses to participate, to help make this event bigger and better than previous years.

"We've had many exciting entries over the past couple of years and look forward to see what's in store for the holiday event," said Michelle Trimberger, Program Coordinator for Edmond Electric.

Entries for the parade must use lights to "light up" their float/entry to continue with the theme of the Parade of Lights.

If your group or organization would like to participate in this fun holiday event, applications can be found at edmondelectric.com or you can call Michelle Trimberger at (405)-216-7671.

Application deadline is November 30, 2012.
