Sooner freshman setter Julia Doyle has been named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week. She joins Texas' Haley Eckerman and Iowa State's Kristen Hahn who were selected as this week's Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honorees, respectively.

The announcement marks the first weekly accolade of Doyle's career in the Crimson and Cream, and the second of the year for the Sooners. Senior libero, Maria Fernanda, was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 10.

The Plymouth, Minn., native takes home Rookie of the Week honors after she totaled back-to-back double-double performances in Oklahoma's matchups against Wichita State and TCU.

Against the Shockers, Doyle totaled 44 assists and 12 digs to mark the fifth 40-plus assist performance of her freshman campaign, and added a pair of block assists and two kills in the Sooners' efforts.

In Saturday's matchup against TCU, Doyle totaled 30 assists and 10 digs for her sixth double-double of the season and second in as many matches. The freshman setter also collected a personal-best .571 hitting percentage – successfully hitting four of seven attempts with no errors – and added three total blocks and a team-high two service aces in Oklahoma's ninth sweep of the season.

The Sooners welcome Kansas to McCasland Field House Wednesday night. First serve is set for 7 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast live on FS Southwest in conjunction with Sooner Sports TV powered by FOX Sports.
