OSU's Pistol Pete Celebrates 89th Birthday At OKC Zoo

OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Oklahoma City Metro Chapter of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association hosted a birthday party, Sunday, for Pistol Pete at the Oklahoma City Zoo.

The celebration has become an annual event for the chapter and draws hundreds of orange-clad alumni and fans.

The first 200 people to arrive wearing orange received a piece of birthday cake and a chance to get a picture with Pete himself.

"I think he's taking it pretty good. I'm not quite sure how old he is, but I think the skin cream has done him well. I don't know what it is, but he doesn't seem to age a bit," said James Ferrell, with the OKC Chapter of OSU Alumni Association.

For the record, Pistol Pete is now 89 years old.
