The body found in Muskogee last week has been identified through dental records as 46-year-old Ronald Sanders.

Sanders was reported missing in early August and was wanted in connection with an October 2009 burglary and assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

In August, News On 6 reported U.S. Marshals were searching for Sanders after he was identified as the man who broke into a Muskogee home and assaulted a juvenile with a baseball bat.

Last week, a dog led police to Sanders' badly decomposed body in the 600 block of North 12th Street. The dog was carrying a detached human hand in its mouth and dropped it in front of some Muskogee city workers. Police K-9s tracked the rest of Sanders' body.

Muskogee police said there were no indications into the cause of death at the scene. The state medical examiner's office will rule on official cause of death.
