OKLAHOMA CITY -
An Oklahoma City family is
in mourning, Thursday night, after a pet pit bull attacked and killed a
61-year-old grandmother.
It happened just before
midnight at Nellie Davis' apartment near NW 122nd and Penn. News 9 caught up
with Miss Nellie's husband, who says his wife was a loving woman who graduated
at the top of her class at OSU.

"She was just a real good
Christian. Every day she could she got down on her knees and prayed for the
world because that's what she wanted to do, make a difference. And she would
try to go and teach young ladies nursing and things of that nature because of
her education, said Davis' husband, Cleveland Davis, Sr.
Cleveland says he had told
his wife and granddaughter to get rid of the pit bulls and says the one that
attacked would often get aggressive during storms.
"It was an accident, because the dog never did show any aggression
very much until the weather would change and then he would get very, very, very
angry," said Cleveland.

Police officers responded to a possible domestic call at the
Highland Apartments located in the 12700 block of North Penn where they soon
discovered what happened.
"I want everyone to know that she was a great mother a great Christian.
She went to the People's church here on Britton road and she was always a role
model for girls and nurses. "
Nellie Davis' funeral is set for Sat Oct 6 at Temple and
sons funeral home at 11 a.m. Family members say they have not set up a memorial
fund for Nellie yet, but will call News 9 on Friday if they get a fund set up.
Nellie Davis was killed by her pet pit bull at an apartment complex in northwest Oklahoma City.
