Oklahoma Baptist opened the Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer schedule with a 3-0 win at John Brown in Siloam Springs, Ark., Thursday. Ailee Pewitt had two goals in the match.

"It was perfect," said Lady Bison Coach Mike White.

After a scoreless first half, Elisa Brito got the game-winner with 35:59 to go, collecting a rebound from a shot by Mackenzie Bruton and giving OBU a 1-0 lead with her fourth goal of the season.

Just 1:46 later, Pewitt used an assist from Marta Venegas for a 2-0 lead. Pewitt scored her second goal of the day and fifth of the season at the 10:10 mark – just 23 seconds after re-entering the game – using an assist from Maddie Windham.

OBU out-shot JBU 16-10, getting eight shots on goal. Brito had three shots on goal to go with Pewitt's two and one each by Windham, Marissa Stephens and Carley Sell.

Shannon Griffith collected a pair of saves in the shutout.

The win vaults OBU to 1-0 in the SAC and 3-4 overall while the Golden Eagles drop to 5-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

The Lady Bison return to action Saturday at No. 15 Kansas Wesleyan.
