OKLAHOMA CITY -- It was an exciting day for some young Thunder fans at an Oklahoma City Public School, Wednesday.

Superintendent Karl Springer went to a kindergarten class to teach a special history lesson.

It all goes back to the NBA finals this summer, when Springer made a friendly wager with his counterpart in Miami on the outcome of the championship game.

As Thunder fans, we were all disappointed when the Heat pulled off the big win, but on Wednesday Springer came through on his end of the deal.

Springer wore a Lebron James jersey and taught a history lesson on the state of Florida to the kindergarten students at North Highland Elementary School. The Miami superintendent got to see it all on Skype, but the kids didn't let him go without showing off their OKC pride, wearing the Thunder blue.

"It's just really a gift for our school district to be able to have the Thunder here, and we really wanted to make sure our kids got the full benefit of that," said Springer.

The Thunder was in on all of this, too. The team donated the T-shirts to the class and the kids say they're ready for a new NBA season to begin so they can cheer on the Thunder to the championship again this year.

Springer talked with the kids about Florida agriculture, state history facts and talked with the Miami superintendent about his school district.
