OKLAHOMA CITY -

An Oklahoma City man escapes his burning home after it was hit by lightning early Wednesday morning.

A next door neighbor first spotted the fire after a storm rolled through the neighborhood around 1:00 a.m. on N.W. 113th Street near Council Road.

Tricia Lee says her husband ran over to the home and banged on the doors until the man inside woke up. He managed to get out okay with his two dogs.

Firefighters estimate the home has around $15,000 in damage.

Early morning storms also sparked several grass fires in Oklahoma City. Storms also knocked out power to homes in Edmond, Norman and Guthrie. A fire was also reported at a house in Guthrie.
