OKC University Temporarily Put On Lockdown After Threat On Campus

OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City University was temporarily placed on lockdown after a suspect in a nearby shooting fled toward the campus, Sunday afternoon.

The lockdown was issued around 3:50 p.m. According to police, the shooting happened at an apartment complex in the 1600 block of NW 30th St. The suspect ran toward Oklahoma City University and was followed there by a witness.

According to a university official, city police arrested the suspect outside of Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center without incident. Police found a gun discarded along the path in which the suspect fled.

The lockdown ended just after 4 p.m.

The identity of the suspect has not been released. Police say the victim in the shooting is in stable condition and seems to have suffered only a grazing wound. The victim's identity also has not been released.

Police are investigating the cause of the shooting.
