The Oklahoma volleyball team fell to No. 9 Texas Saturday night in three sets (3-0; 18-25, 14-25. 10-25). With the loss, the Sooners drop to 12-4 on the year and 1-1 in the Big 12.

It is the first loss for the Sooners in six matches, as they had caught wins over No. 19 Kentucky and No. 11 Kansas State before facing the Longhorns in a streak that began Sept 7 at the Ameritas Player Invitational.

The Longhorns totaled 13.0 blocks to the Sooners three to control the tempo. It is the fourth match of the year OU has been out-blocked, and the third resulting in a loss.

Junior outside hitter Keila Rodriguez led the Sooners with nine kills and added eight digs, while senior libero Maria Fernanda had nine digs of her own to lead Oklahoma's back court on the evening. Fernanda has led OU in digs each match on the year.

Sallie McLaurin totaled a team-high .333 hitting percentage as she successfully struck four of her nine swings with just one error. Freshman Julia Doyle continued to structure the Sooners offense with 21 assists.

Oklahoma has a mid-week bye before hosting new Big 12 member, West Virginia, to Norman at 7 p.m. on Saturday at McCasland Field House.
