Sad news for the father of an Oklahoma City Icon. Joe Carter Sr. died Wednesday morning of an undetermined cause. He was 82.
Joe Carter Jr. played Major League baseball nearly 20 years. He's credited with hitting probably the most dramatic home run in World Series history, when his three-run shot against Philadelphia won the 1993 series for Toronto.
Carter says his father lived a good life.
"One thing that we know for sure, each of us will have to leave this earth, and we just feel that this was the time. This was his time," Joe Carter Jr. said.
Joe Carter Sr. and his wife of 61 years, Athelene, had 11 children.
