A motorcyclist and a police car collided in East Tulsa on Friday morning and the cyclist was taken to jail.

The crash happened near 12th Street and 89th East Avenue.

Tulsa police said it started when an officer spotted the motorcycle at 71st Street and Mingo Road going too fast. A few minutes later, another officer spotted the same motorcycle exiting off U.S. Highway 169 onto 11th Street.

Jeremiah Gantz, 22, and his 17-year-old passenger went west on 11th past TPD's Mingo Valley Division before driving at a high rate of speed through a school zone, according to police.

Officers caught up with Gantz in a nearby neighborhood drainage ditch where the minor crash occurred.

Police said Gantz and his teenage passenger were scratched up and treated at the scene by EMSA.

Gantz was arrested on several traffic related complaints and a complaint of endangering the life of a juvenile and booked into the Tulsa County jail.
