OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City police have released the name of a man who died Thursday morning from a severe beating.

Someone called 911 after midnight to report a fight near S.W. 41st Street and McKinley. When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Richard Allen Burns lying unconscious in the grass. Police say he had been badly beaten and was completely unresponsive. A police officer performed CPR on Burns until an ambulance arrived.

An EMSA crew rushed Burns to a hospital. He died from his injuries around 9:30 a.m.

Police are speaking with one person of interest, but they aren't sure how he may be connected to the case. Investigators also don't know yet what started the fight that led to the man's death.

Police have not named any suspects.
