A cab driver frantically called 911 Sunday morning after he said a passenger fired several gunshots at him.

Around 1:30 a.m., the driver said he dropped off 29-year-old Tyler Ray Scott at a house on N. Douglas Boulevard near Edmond Road. Scott told the driver he had to go into the house to get money to pay the fare. The driver said when Scott came out of the house, he wasn't holding money; he was holding a gun.

The driver said Scott fired several shots at him, but missed. The driver drove away and called 911.

Officers arrived at Scott's house and tried to make contact with him, but he didn't respond. That led to a standoff that lasted several hours. Just after 6 a.m., Scott surrendered to police. No one was hurt.

Police booked Scott into jail on a complaint of assault with a deadly weapon.
