A pickup truck crashed into a Tulsa Police secured parking lot at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. A man and woman were inside the truck that came to a stop in the parking lot surrounded by police cars.

Police say two vehicles were on Riverside Drive when the driver of the lead vehicle crashed through a gate securing the parking lot of Tulsa Police Department's Riverside Division just south of 71st Street.

"The occupants of that vehicle claim they were being chased by a subject with a gun," said Sergeant Tim Lewandowski of the Tulsa Police Department.

Two officers who were in the lot took the driver and passenger into custody, he said. The woman was questioned and released.

The driver, 27-year-old Matthew John White, was arrested for malicious injury to city property and two traffic violations.

Lewandowski said he thought the gate would cost about $3,000 to repair.
