OSU 65, Louisiana-Lafayette 17: By The Numbers

Posted: Updated:
STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

Here is a look at some of the numbers and figures that contributed to Oklahoma State's 65-24 thumping of Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday in Stillwater.

17 - A week after struggling mightily against Arizona's zone-read attack, OSU made a statement in the first quarter against the Cajuns. OSU led 17-0 at the end of the first and had allowed only 17 yards of total offense against ULL's zone read.

7 - number of connections for the Denton Guyer High School tandem of J.W. Walsh and Josh Stewart. The two are obviously comfortable with one another, as they hooked up for touchdowns of 33 and 17 yards. Stewart led OSU with 105 receiving on his nine catches, two of which came from Wes Lunt.

93 - That's how many minutes of football it took for an opponent to score this season inside Boone Pickens Stadium. After an 84-0 shutout of Savannah State, the Cowboys were on their way again with a 44-0 halftime lead until Lafayette scored three minutes into the third quarter.

105 - Rushing yards for Cowboy running back Joseph Randle. The Wichita native scored two touchdowns and averaged five yards per carry on his way to his third consecutive 100-yard effort.

4 - Touchdown passes by Walsh, tying Aso Pogi's freshman record at OSU.

14 - With 741 yards of total offense, Saturday marked the 14th time Oklahoma State has amassed 600 or more yards since Mike Gundy took over as head coach in 2005. The Cowboys have surpassed the 600-yard mark all three games this season.

39 - A new school record for first downs, breaking the old record of 36.

742 - Even when OSU's starting quarterback goes down with an injury, it doesn't slow down Mike Gundy's offensive machine. OSU rolled up a school-record 742 yards of total offense, breaking the old record of 725 set against Baylor in 2010.

74.5 - OSU's points per game average in two home games this season.

5 - After being called for 15 penalties for a school-record 167 yards against Arizona, OSU played a much cleaner game with just five penalties for 45 yards.

1 - The number of victories Mike Gundy needs to tie Pat Jones for the most wins in OSU history. Gundy is 61-31 at OSU but that record is made far more impressive with the 25-4 mark the past three seasons.
