A rainy start to the State Fair of Oklahoma as opening day kicks off on Thursday.

About 1 million visitors attend the annual fair in Oklahoma City each year. Organizers say this year's festivities will feature Disney On Ice's Dare to Dream, the PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour, and concerts from Jake Owen, Air Supply, Neal McCoy, Eddie Money and the Oklahoma Centennial Rodeo Opry.

"Since 1907 we have been committed to bringing the best State Fair possible to Oklahoma, and we couldn't be more excited for the fun and memories that are sure to come with our 106th Oklahoma State Fair," stated Tim O'Toole, President & CEO. "Our main goal is to provide a clean and safe environment where visitors can experience all that the Fair has to offer, including both new attractions and fan favorites."

O'Toole said several brand new elements have been added to the fair this year, such as the Zoppe' Italian Family Circus and The Good Life Wine and Beer Garden.

On opening day Thursday, admission is $2 at the gate. Opening ceremonies are planned for 5 p.m. The fair runs through September 23.
