Oklahoma City police arrested a man accused grabbing his 5-year-old son by the neck.

On September 7, officers were called to an apartment in the 5600 block of N.W. 23rd Street. Saul Saldivar-Rodriguez's wife told police the 25-year-old man had been in a bad mood all day. She said he grabbed their 5-year-old son at the front of his neck and tightened his grip.

The woman told police Saldivar-Rodriguez used his other hand to grab the back of the boy's shirt collar, and lifted the child off the ground. In a probable cause affidavit, police noted there were bruises around the boy's neck.

The woman said when she went to stop Saldivar-Rodriguez, he turned on her, grabbing her by the neck and pushing her up against the wall. Police also noted she had bruises around her neck.

Saldivar-Rodriguez was arrested on complaints of child abuse and domestic abuse by strangulation.
