MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -

Midwest City police have captured three men who escaped from a jail in Pike County, Missouri.

Emanuel Chatman, 27, and brothers Jacob Darnell, 22, and Jason Darnell, 25, escaped Saturday night from the Pike County Detention Center. Surveillance video from the jail showed the men leaving the building through a service area they'd apparently accessed by removing a shower head.

Jacob Darnell was being held on charges of domestic assault and drug possession. Jason Darnell was in prison for possession of a controlled substance, and also faced a charge of failing to register as a sex offender.

Chatman was being held on a charge of domestic assault.

Just before midnight on Sunday, September 9, Midwest City police responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle at the 7-Eleven Store in the 1900 block of S. Air Depot. Officers found all three escapees in a black Chevy pickup truck that had been reported stolen out of Missouri.

When officers searched the vehicle, they found drug paraphernalia. The three suspects were arrested and are awaiting extradition back to Pike County, Missouri.

Two other men also escaped with the three fugitives. They have not been caught.
