MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -

Friends and families welcomed home Monday morning approximately 50 airmen from the 552nd Air Control Wing, also known as "America's Wing."

The airmen landed around 6 a.m. at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City. They were scheduled to return Sunday, but their flight was delayed in Maine.

In May, 150 airmen from the same wing returned to Oklahoma. They were all stationed for six months at an air base in the United Arab Emirates to support ongoing operations in Afghanistan.

The airmen provide all weather surveillance and communications needed by commanders of U.S. and NATO air defense forces.
