Toppled trees, damaged homes and downed power lines were common sights throughout neighborhoods in southwest Oklahoma City Friday.

Storms caused headaches for people throughout the metro. OG&E was working to restore power near SW 23rd and Western, Friday evening. Storm victim Ricky Ricardo lives near that intersection. He and his family spent much of the day clearing debris.

"It went from nothing to big thunder," Ricardo said. "It was kind of scary, but … we can't do [anything] against nature."

Branches were left scattered throughout the neighborhood. Across the street from the Ricardo home a tree crashed into a roof. Around the corner, stoplights were out and crews were kept busy.

"We thought it was a tornado at first, but then we realized the sirens didn't go off," Marjorie Marquez said.

Marquez was one of about 30 people inside El Mana grocery store and restaurant on south Western when the storm rolled in. She works for the business and was taking an order when dust filled the air outside. Marquez says the door to the business started slamming as patrons took cover.

"Everybody was running to the bathrooms because they thought it was a tornado," Marquez said.

Many of the downed trees and branches have already been placed on the curbs. There have been no reports of any injuries.
