Westbrook To Serve As UCO Homecoming Parade Marshal

Posted: Updated:
EDMOND, Oklahoma -

The University of Central Oklahoma announced on Tuesday that Oklahoma City all-star point guard Russell Westbrook will serve as grand marshal of the UCO Homecoming parade.

This summer's gold medal winner at the London Olympics will lead the parade at 10 a.m. on Nov. 3 in Edmond.

"Having Russell Westbrook as our grand marshal adds to the excitement that already surrounds our Homecoming events," said Courtney James, assistant director for Campus Activities at Central. "Being a part of the Oklahoma City metro, naturally many in our campus community are big Thunder fans. We can't wait to see what happens when our faculty, staff, students and community join their Broncho and Thunder pride!"

The parade will begin at the intersection of University and Main Street on the southwest corner of the campus. The parade will head south on University, then west on First Street, north on Broadway, east on Campbell Street, and finally north on University back to the start.

UCO's week-long Homecoming celebration will conclude with the football team's game against Southwest Baptist University following the parade.
