TULSA, Oklahoma -

A 49-year-old woman has been taken to the hospital in unknown condition after an SUV crashed into a licensed daycare in the 8100 block of East 31st Street.

It happened at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday, and no children were at the business.

The Ford Explorer crashed into a room in the converted home used a nursery, but it was empty Saturday afternoon.

Police at the scene say the driver had an allergic reaction that caused a seizure.

"The driver has allergies to different food products, had a seizure, crossed over the road ... struck the building," TPD Officer James McClaughry said.

McClaughry said the woman wasn't cognizant enough to make officers aware of any injuries, so she was transported by EMSA to a local hospital.

EMSA released a statement saying the woman was in serious condition.

"Pretty lucky it happened on a day where there was nobody here," McClaughry said.

News On 6 will have more information as it is confirmed.
