TULSA, Oklahoma -

An EMSA ambulance rolled onto its side Friday afternoon in downtown Tulsa.

The crash happened just before 12:15 p.m. on I-244 where the Inner Dispersal Loop connects with northbound U.S. Highway 75.

EMSA says there wasn't a patient aboard at the time of the crash and the EMSA crew on board was not injured.

A caller to News On 6 says who says he witnessed the crash said the ambulance began to slide sideways before it rolled onto its side coming to rest on a guardrail.

EMSA issued the following statement:

An EMSA ambulance was just in an accident on the southbound lane on Highway 75 near the IDL in Tulsa. No other vehicle was involved. The ambulance tipped onto its side. There was no patient on board.

Our concern right now is for the safety and well-being of the medics, which we have been told have no injuries.

Our number one concern is always the safety of patients, citizens and employees. We are grateful no one was hurt.

It is not suspected that there was any misconduct made by the driver, however, as with the case of any accident in which an ambulance is involved, the incident will be thoroughly investigated.
