With the Pacific Coast League playoff looming, and the Oklahoma City RedHawks on the outside looking in, this week's series against division-leading Albuquerque is huge.

Wednesday night, the RedHawks responded in a big way.

OKC scored five runs in two separate in an 11-0 drubbing of the Albuquerque Isotopes.

With the win, the RedHawks closed the gap separating the two teams to just 2.5 games with five games to play. The two teams will face off in the series finale tomorrow night, with OKC looking for the four-game sweep.

After that, OKC takes on bottom-feeder Round Rock in a four-game set at home, while Albuquerque has to take on Omaha, who has the best record in the PCL.

It's quite possible for the RedHawks to complete the comeback, and the schedule is set up quite nicely for them to do that.

Edgar Gonzalez pitched seven shutout innings for OKC, giving up just four hits and striking out six. Derrick Loop took the loss for Albuquerque.

OKC put up its first run in the bottom of the fourth on a Mike Hessman solo shot, his 33rd of the season.

The first five-run inning came in the sixth, with a two-run double from J.D. Martinez and a three-run home run from Angel Sanchez scoring the runs.

OKC continued to pour it on in the eighth, scoring five more runs on six hits, including a two-run double for Carlos Corporan.
