The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a crash on the Turner Turnpike Wednesday afternoon closed lanes in both directions at mile marker 214, due to a tanker fire.

Traffic is moving again on I-44 after the crash near Sapulpa.

The OHP says one semi made an unsafe lane change, causing a dump truck to lose control and hit another semi. The impact caused the dump truck and the semi to drive off the road and catch fire.

The turnpike was closed at 4:15 p.m. and reopened to traffic in both directions just before 8 p.m.

The fire destroyed the cabs of both the dump truck and the semi which was hauling thousands of gallons of motor oil.  The oil did not catch fire.

The crash and fire even sparked a small grass fire, but firefighters were able to get it out pretty quickly.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says there were no major injuries from the crash.
