A man became the victim of a carjacking in southwest Oklahoma City when he stopped to help a woman he thought was stranded.

According to a police report, the man saw the woman around midnight August 28 standing next to her car near S.E. 27th Street and Phillips. The car had its hazard lights flashing and appeared to have broken down.

The man said he stopped to help her, but when he climbed out of his vehicle a man approached him from behind and pointed a gun at his head.

The gunman demanded his wallet and the victim cooperated. The man said the gunman took all the cash out of his wallet – about $200 – then handed it back to him. The gunman drove away in the victim's car, and his female accomplice took off in the "broken down" vehicle.

Police are still searching for the stolen car and the two criminals. Police do not have a detailed description of the couple, but the stolen vehicle is a green, four-door 2004 Honda Accord with the Oklahoma license plate 985-HXS.
