Oklahoma City police are searching for two men who broke into Hayes Elementary School and swiped much-needed equipment and wiring from the school.

The burglars forced their way into the school located near S.E. 66th Street and Shields on August 20. Police say the men ransacked several rooms and stole various electronics such as computers, televisions, radios and speakers. They also stole 4,000 feet of copper wire from a construction area at the school.

"It's unclear how they got in there's no forced entry while in the school," Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Gary Knight said.

"You can see one of the guys' face and he's looking at the camera, so it's like thanks for looking at the camera and you carrying your stolen goods right out of the building," Oklahoma Public School Spokesperson, Kathleen Kennedy said. "Really upsetting, heartbreaking that people feel the need to steal from kids!"

Surveillance cameras in the school recorded images of the men during their crime spree. Police have released the photos, hoping someone will recognize them.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
